JUST IN: Civil Society Groups Kicks Against Blackmail Of NNPCL Chief

A coalition of Civil Society Groups under the aegis of Coalition of Civil Society Groups in Nigeria has kicked against attempts to blackmail the Executive Vice President of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited NNPCL Tombomieye Adokiye on allegations bothering on crude oil theft and Instigation of violence in the Niger Delta region.
The group made this known in a world press conference by its Spokesman Amb. Nwokoma Messiah who warned those behind the blackmail to desist forthwith or face the wrath of members of the civil society in Nigeria. 

Amb. Nwokoma said Mr. Adokiye is a career public servant and not a politician who will be engaging in such conducts stressing that requirements for the position of top executive of the NNPCL is not by instigating violence but by hardwork and cognate experience. 

He described Mr. Adokiye as a true son of the Niger Delta and a humble man who will not debase himself by involving in conducts that are unbecoming of somebody of his level or being insurbordinate to the NNPCL GMD Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari. He called on those behind the blackmail plot to desist forthwith or else they will be reported to security agencies for arrest.
He described the group as a faceless group whose so called leader is a serial blackmailer who has been involved in blackmail of office holders. "the so called statement of the faceless group which goes by the name of Niger Delta stakeholders is filled with desperate resort to mendacity. 

Davies Iyieke who signed the purported statement is a serial blackmailer and we are calling on security agencies to investigate his activities" Amb. Nwokoma stated.
