A source, who confirmed the arrival of the governors, said they quickly went into a closed door meeting. The source, who spoke in confidence, did not give details on their parley. Ikpeazu is one of the five governors in Wike’s camp fighting structural injustice in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Ayade and Umahi are of the All Progressives Congress

It was learnt that the mission of the two governors was in connection with the crisis rocking the opposition PDP. There were indications that Ayade and Umahi came to seek Wike’s support in Rivers for the forthcoming presidential election. Wike and his allies had vowed not to work for their presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, over unresolved issues bordering injustice and unfairness
